Our Story
Built by Our People, For Our People
The Rakahanga Community Hostel was established through the vision and determination of our people, to provide a home away from home for families visiting from our home island of Rakahanga, and for those of our people who reside overseas.
Countless hours of fundraising, planning, volunteer labour, and generous donations have transformed this vision into reality. The hostel stands as a lasting symbol of unity, resilience, and community spirit.
This hostel is lovingly dedicated to the families who believed in the vision, the volunteers who gave their time, the donors whose generosity made construction possible, the committee members whose commitment guided the project, and to future generations who will continue to benefit from this community achievement.
May this hostel always be a place of hospitality, compassion, and unity.
